Golden Arowana & Coin Motif

This Eastern wood sculpture centers on the distinctive profile of an Arowana. The body extends horizontally while the head rises slightly upward, and the tail, dorsal fin and pectoral fins open outward to create a strong sense of forward and upward motion.

Layered fin rays are carved to catch changing light and shadow, while the flowing grain of the natural wood remains visible across the body. Beneath the fish, wave-like carved forms create the impression of an Arowana moving through water.

A string of coin-style ornaments appears below the head, bringing the fish, water and traditional decorative language into one composition.
